Having issues with the search feature, may be me, but anyway, never adjusted valves on an xs1100, got an 81 I'll be tearing down to the frame for a paint the frame up resto, want to adjust the valves while I have the engine out when I get to that point, is there a tutorial in the tech section somewhere? If someone can post a link it would be appreciated, I've done many GS1100's, is it the same procedure, or something else?
    Thanks Rich

Search on valve adjustment on youtube and you should find a couple descriptions. I think the reason there has never been a detailed published tech tip is that if you mention valve adjustment, you get lots of discussion on how to do it. The two main methods involve either using the tool, or loosening/removing the cams. Done it both ways myself. I have my preference, but either one works.

is it a basic remove valve cover, align cams to right position, remove, measure, replace shim on cam bucket type of adjustment, or is there more to it on these, like i said, I've done plenty on Suzuki's, just never had the valve cover off of a yamahammer yet, maybe I'll do a right up with pics.

And as far as searching, keys on my keyboard are working only when they want too, need a new one.
