    float bowl letters

When i got a float bowl off of E-Bay recently that the seller claims its for an SG however it is not.The holes don't line up at all.The bowl has a stamp on it that reads "E". On my SG the bowls read "B". What do the letter stand for?

Probably nothing useful.... Those could be anything from a mold identifier to a 'shift' or 'date' mark (when built) or even a 'assembler' mark (who put it together).

Look here for positive identifiers for the float bowls....

Steve-the thread that identifies the carb differences-have a bump in the float bowl it says for 80-82-the one i got doesn't have this bump. The slot in the top of the one i bought doesn't extend all the way across the top either. The only good thing about the bowl was the drain bolt and washer was brand new and i needed them. As far as the letters-i see some bowls on E-Bay with the same letters.
