    You want the 1/4" I.D.

Yep, be aware that some types of line have a larger O.D than the stock line which means those factory spring clamps may or may not work.

1/4 will work, check at auto parts stores for metric sizes. I found a roll of 6mm fuel line at one near me. It was a perfect replacement for the original. I have used regular 1/4 fuel line but it is so bulky to fit around the carbs and valves I had to find something better.

So 6mm or 1/4" I.D. is the correct size for all the fuel lines? There is only one size on the whole fuel system from tank to carbs?
Bone stock 1980 Special except for the exhaust and crashbars. Oh yeah, and the scabbard for the Winchester Defender.

Yes either one will work, remember what Phil said. The regular 1/4 line at the auto parts store has a thick wall and the OEM spring calmps won't fit. It is also harder to fit all the lines in the tight spaces.
I have seen some people use 1/4 Tygon tubing for fuel lines.
