    The stuff you pointed out is for the painted rims that seem to be the norm on newer cars.
    I think his best bet would be to find a used rim that wasn't pitted, as all the processes suggested so far are long on labor and cost.

    Dau! new used wheels would be the best fix, DAAAAU! I said that already, DAAAU! This a a fix for the "pits" he was talking about, it is clear none of you know anything about alum wheel repair, but thanks for giveing your "expert" advice on the matter

        Well, do what you're going to do and report back on your experience. YOU will become the resident expert to render advice on what to do or what not to do!

          Hey Skids, I am no expert on anything, This all started with "is there a compound to fill pits in alum. wheels. I spent some time to find one that I have used in the past to try to help, then it went, weld, grind and what ever I was trying to help and give a choise that might help and with free shipping there and a cheap fix. I hope it helped some, it has worked for me, not perfect but good for the $$$. I have used it on auto wheels and it worked great, just thought it might help a fellow XS owner, maybe so, maybe not

            true, it looks best when sprayed on, but if he polishes the wheels 1st, fills the pits that show, then touches up with the silver coat, it should look good, not perfect, but good.

              Unless the pitting is really deep, you might look at this.....

              When doing wheels, I've found that putting an axle in a vise and allowing the wheel to spin slowly while using the discs takes care of any 'blending' issues you might have.
