    One of them were too short for #2, so I cut the one going to #4 and used the left over instead.
    That's how I got the pics for the cap screw and the cable I stripped was the short one.

      I must say that Partzilla has been the worst online company I have dealt with in a long time. Marked as delivered on 4/3.. Not delivered.. Emailed them. Parts not available and on backorder.. ETA unknown. Told them to ship the 1 part they had. LOL. 2 weeks. Still waiting. Called tonight. Parts JUST left this evening (imagine that). Unknown if all parts are included in order. wtf.. Ordered all 3 from eBay just now. Never dealing with partzilla again. Will dispute in 7 days if not arrived.

        Aaaand partzilla finally shipped PART of my order. Unfortunately, they keep changing the price on me now. It seems to keep going up since they are splitting the shipments into many small ones. Parts are still listed as OUT OF STOCK.

        Emailed to cancel. I assume I will have to escelate this to VISA. *sigh*

          sorry to hear about your troubles with partzilla.
          I've only ordered from them once and probably won't anymore now.
          I'll probably stick with Boats.net instead.

          Anyway, about my Honda Coil mod, I had to 'borrow' my plug caps from the G, but anyway, she fired right up and no cough or sputtering. Wonderful Mod.

          Wouldn't you know it, the next day, the postman shows up with a box and wow 4 new NGK plug caps from WA.

              hey guys, been a while since ive posted here.
              i looking to do this mod since my factory coil crapped out on me, and my question is, did you have to switch to resister spark plugs?

                No, I use the same resistor plug boots as stock coils. Get new or reuse the ones from your stock setup.

                  One thing I noticed with this mod is that the horn will need to be relocated on the 78E at least. I had to extend my wires and move the horn to one of the fairing mount holes.

                      OK, I give, where are the horns mounted on the 78E. I am not sure why the horns would be a problem with these coils.

                        he 78 and 79 Standards had single horn with it's bracket bolted to a frame tab near the ballast resistor. The horn itself sits in the center, in back of the cross frame where the later model horn bracket would bolt up to.

                          ya i looked at mine today, 79f, and seen the horn. i dont have a fairing so were would a good place to mount it be?
                          waiting for the coils to get here, but i can go ahead and move the horn.

                            If you mod the bracket, you can mount it in front of that cross frame to one of those threaded holes in one of the downtubes.

                              The horn on my 78E sits directly under the coils between the front valve cover and the coils. The Honda coils front output towers take the space that the horn did. Can't turn the horn down really as the valve cover is there. Need to simply move the horn assembly to the front of the downtubes.

                              Ya, I drilled the hole *slightly* bigger on the actual horn tab. Then I used one of my fairing frame bolts and a few lock-washers. I then made 2 wire extensions that simply plugged in to the existing horn harness with male "blades" and 2 female connectors for the horn blades. Some heat-shrink tubing and it's done. No mods to the existing harness at all.

                              Won't be a problem if I ever want to run my fairing mount again.

                                well put the new coils and wires on today, fired up and rode for 1/2hr and lost cycl. 2-3 again. babbied it home and retraced all the wires, all good, decided to open up the tci and low and behold the solder for coil 2 was loose and coil 1 was cracked a little.
                                resoldered and everything works great. o well cheap upgrade. 30 bux for vf700 coils and 8 bux for 8mm wires.
