You turned off the gas when you changed the filters. Try the PRIME position. Let us know, please !

Double check the direction of the fuel filters, there should be an arrow on them and the arrow should be pointing towards the carbs. I did this on mythe bike but TC caught it before i started it. Just something to check.

When you pull the plug put the wire back on it and lay the threaded end on the engine so it's grounded like it would be if still installed, crank it and watch for spark.
Doing this on a bright sunny day in the sun you may not be able to see the spark even though it's there, block the sun or do it in the garage or shade.

Try starting on prime see if fuel flows.

Or are you out of fuel ?

I had troubles with the porous stone type filters (cone shaped) in the past. Switching to the inline fram filters solved the problem. You might want to also make sure that the tubing is all "downhill" towards the carb inlets to avoid the air bubble problem. I have no issues with that using the Frams, but if you use those cone types, it may be more of an issue.

The tubing is not really downhill that really makes a difference?

You probably have an air lock or bubble problem. I know this sounds strange and you may not want to do it, but open the gas cap and put your mouth against the opening and blow into the tank. This will create some pressure and force the fuel through the lines, removing the bubble problem. It has always worked for me. It doesn't take much pressure to do it.

Nothing runs uphill as easily as down.
I'm running the same filters on mine, now I'm thinking ? ? ? when I tried running one pet cock on my XS650 on the freeway it would run four about 5 miles and then start coughing, pull over to the side and it would sit a idle perfectly, take off and 5 miles later same thing ? ? Got off the freeway and took the back roads home, ran great. Thinking I put the other petcock on , took out the T I had in the line, no more problem. Now I have not had my 1100 long enough, running good enough to hit the freeway, now it's ready but it's colder than I like and have a bit of a cold. I've been out under 20F many times, once in an ice storm, almost new XS650D, no cars on the road, got to my buds place and he greets me with what are you nuts. Made it back home too no problem. Yeah I'm nuts.
