    squeaky brakes (help)

    what can i do to desqueek the brakes. I have new pads. i cleaned the orfice holes in both masters, the owner before me let the front brakes lockup a few times i suspect. the brakes work fine but they squeek. thanks in advance brian

    chamfer the edges if the pads at about 54 degrees (just need to do leading edge but if you do both edges you can't mix them up). Also "anti-squeel" (available at auto parts stores) compound on the back of the pads helps too. Make sure the metal anti-rattle shims are in place.

      Use some (not too much) copper grease on the BACK of the plates, where they touch the piston.
