Our carbs are spring-loaded, and handle the "pull" part all by themselves. Some bikes use 2 separate cables - one for pull, and one for push. Ours are just "pull" style.

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
Do you think i can buy a push-pull style and use only one cable? Here a big deal on ebay for a motion pro push-pull - - -
Hi Robin,
what do they (and what do you) mean by "push-pull"?
Control cables DON'T push, they only pull. A 2-cable twistgrip has one cable to pull the carbs open and another to pull them closed.
(Hey! Desmodromic carbs! But I digress.)
If that Motion-Pro twistgrip works 2 cables, most likely it will work with only 1 to operate spring-return carbs.
Be careful which cable though, the other one will reverse the throttle operation.
However, that particular twistgrip says it's for off-road use.
Which may mean that it has a bigger than normal cable drum diameter to give a rapid throttle opening, usually a ~1/4 turn instead of ~1/2.
You sure you want that on an XJ11?

Yeah push-pull mean for me a 2-cables... I will try the motion-pro but if you look on is web site a single cable or double cable it's really not the same shape...
