    I used the Yamabond on the outer lips.
    Well if it leaks i'll have to get the right size.
    Or i could just bung it up with some silicone sealant and see what happens.

      The narrower seal will be fine, the diameters are the thing that matters, any spring supported lip seal will be Ok as long as its meant for oil use, EG Neoprene

      Scoot, I think I'd have left the seal leaking, at least you might have gotten some lubricant onto your ATU

        I'm embarassed to admit how long I did let it leak for fear that I couldn't do the repair correctly. Maybe 5 years, until it's leaking a qt. every 500 miles.
        Been adding lots of quarts to keep the level up.

          One more thing...

          This may be important, I thought it was at the time, and I forgot to include it:


          Prior to disassembly, I marked the case and timing block to be sure the timing would remain where it was originally upon reassembly.
