valves and guides

Hi,I think I put this question in the wrong place so hope I'm right this time.
I need some help locating valves and guides for my 1980 xs1100g.I cannot find anyone who seems to be able to supply these parts.I have bent inlet valves due to a broken tensioner slipper and it's impossible to get anything here in NZ.I've scoured the net but am not having any luck so am hoping someone out there can help please.Thankyou.

Hi, I have four of the intake valves. They are new. Part number is 3H5-12111-01 (old number is 3H5-12111-01-00). My cost was $47.53 each. I can ship these to you for that price plus shipping if you so desire.

The valve guide part number is 1J7-11133-10. I do not have these, but they are available here for $37.68 each.

Hello MP,thanks very much for your kind offer but suddenly i seem to have opened a "treasure trove" and have found some closer to home.It's great how helpful everyone is on this forum and I thank you all very much.I will have to get some guides as well but the Wife is "complaining" so will have to wait for these when I've relieved my credit card as I blew the gearbox in my BMW R100 (90000 miles) and have had to get a new output shaft(ouch).Gee what a Christmas!!!

Hello All,

Just wanted to share this story. Xssidecar and I reached an agreement on the intake valves. Turned out to be a fairly simple procedure and was not that
expensive. I am using USPS International and the price was only $23.95- which I feel is a great price. I checked with UPS, FedEx, DHL, and one other and those prices ranged from $74-$130. We both have a PayPal account which made the transaction quick and easy.

The valves are shipping to him in New Zealand and that is a long ways from here (US). So far away that they are a day ahead of us. He is unable to readily access XS11 parts there.

I am hopeful all will work out well with the shipping but wanted to mention issues with USPS shipping international with certian things. Here in the USA it currently is a real good deal, great price, and better service than UPS in some places. The pitfall with international shipping is with some countries not having the same type postal service. If you ship USPS to some countries you have no way to track the package. Another issue is with packaging. Be sure to package simple avoid using Styrofoam peanuts and special reflective bubble wraps etc because these Items in certian Xray machines cause customs to guess on opening it or not. After its open good luck, I have had bad luck before.

Its also very good that once again XS11 people here are an ir-replacable resouce good job MP .

And my reply to all and with special thanks to MP,in that I have received the valves all nicely packaged and in good order.They took a while to get here but I expected that as they went through a few sorting centres in the US.But they are here now and when the new pistons are fitted I will rebuild the head.I have got a Raptor ACCT from the States and will fit that together with a new cam chain during the rebuild.I have never split and reriveted a cam chain before so will be going slowly with that job.It's impossible to get anything for XS1100's here in NZ so you guys have been a real source of help and information.I don't even see any others on the road here so am on my own as regards local help.
So finally thanks MP for all your help with the valves and also to all you others for a great forum.Cheers

I have a B33, and I need a Lucas Magdyne for it. Are there any down there, or are parts for it as rare as XS parts?

my BSA isn't a "thumper",it's a 500cc twin Model A7.I did have a Matchless 3GL 350cc single back in the early 70's .The B33 is a lovely bike.I will keep my eyes open for a Magdyno down here.
Most of my English stuff I get from the uk --- C&C Autos are very good.I have a list of other good suppliers in England if you need them.
Trying to find anything for my bikes here in NZ is extremely difficult.All the parts I have recently got for the XS have come from America except for the 1196 pistons which I got from Japan.
What year is the B33?.

I can see why it didn't sell, $500 is a bit steep, in my book. Or maybe I'm just behind the times.
But I will monitor the site, in case i'm not behind the times and someone has one that they actually want to sell.

yes I thought it was expensive but heck this is NZ where everything is way expensive which is why so many of us are buying overseas.I suppose because we are such a small population there isn't a lot of stuff around.Bargains do turn up now and again as with the valve guides for the XS which by sheer chance I managed to obtain from a small firm in an equally small town here in NZ.Only $25.00 NZ which was pretty good I thought.Genuine too!.
