      Exhaust pics

      Hey all,

Here are some pics of the exhaust on my project 80G that I had made from the stock system and a pair of Sportster mufflers. Keeps the crossover, which is I can attest is HUGE in maintaining the low end and throttle response of this bike. Rode the bike for about 350 miles with the pipes before getting the crossover connected, and the difference in crispness and throttle response is night and day better with the crossover.

DON'T neuter your crossover if in any way possible! Cutting the pipes further forward at the weld where it meets the header on each side may be a quick and easier way to put on the Sportster muffs, but you are gonna hurt the low end and response at lower/mid rpm. And you lose potential cornering clearance with the pipes going straight back when you eliminate the angle of the stock pipes. This keeps the all stock brackets as well.

I am a believer in that now that I've experienced it myself.

A few more pics are in the "Harley muffler" sticky thread.

Looks good and runs better than mine without the x-over!
