  • Re: Grabrail

Folks a little later I will be searching for a grabrail or two for my bike,a 78E standard. What you use to put the bike up on its centerstand.Have space for one on each side.Runs from top of shock to a tab below the frame.Does anybody have any spares or willing to part with one or two? Thank you PS am using a 2 ton floor jack to get the bike on the centerstand. The stand is about froze up any suggestions on freeing this up.Have tried lubing doesn`t seem to help.

Take it off the bike, look for wear, clean it, and then lube it.

Thanks, the only problem is I don`t know if the PO ever did.It is funny something so simple can be such a BIG pain.Any tips or ideas?I tried to take it off before,no luck but I did invent some new words to call it. Will need to cure this sooner or later, better sooner. Thanks

With the bike leaning on the sidestand, you'll need to get underneath with a decent pair of long-handled pliers to remove the centrestand spring. Then it should be a fairly simple matter to remove the nuts from the two pivot bolts, tap the bolts out, and watch it fall to the floor.

I rolled the bike out in some bright sunlight so I could see what I`am doing.Worked the centerstand up and down and gave it a good spraying of PB Blaster and while I was into it gave the sidestand a good spraying to.For now both work smoothly.Still to cold here to try to do to much on the bike outside. Will keep a eye on it. Thanks
