A little future planning question...
I believe the exhaust on my 79 is a Mac 4-2. It seems like the consensus on this site is, there's nothing better than the stock exhaust. What is the limiting factor of the Mac exhaust, is it the header, or the actual mufflers?
One thought I had is removing the Mac mufflers, and getting Supertrapps. This would purely be for aesthetics and sound. It would also be stupid expensive at $300, but I might be willing to do it. I realize I'm most likely not going to gain much if anything performance wise, but this wouldn't actually hurt anything would it?
Ideally, I'd like a 4-1 system; but still think I'd want a Supertrapp sitting on the end of it. It's still cheaper just to do the 2 Supertrapp mufflers on the existing 4-2.
