I have done the gas oil thing twice this year. I need to fix my floats valve seals, which will be done this winter. But, if you change your oil and filter, you should be good to go. Put in a new plug and ride, check it when the riding season is over. At least, that is what i would do. Good luck.Jeff

If your oil has gas in it dont forget to change it! An oil filter alone is not enough if the viscosity of your oil has changed...'79 XS11 F

I would have to agree, change the oil and filter, clean the plug and ride. Make sure you didn't damage anything from the gas in the oil. No sense fixing something if it isn't.damaged.Nathan

I think you should fix the carbs. One afternoon of work Vs washing out your bearings. That's what I meant marshy, fix the carbs or suffer bearing loss. 1 afternoon of work or a lot of money and maybe worse damage later."The Hooligan" XJ1100, Virago Gauge Pods, Screaming Eagle Mufflers, K&N Filter, hand made rear fender, side covers, and solo seat, round bar conversion, small headlight, tail light, and cat eye turn signals, chip fuses, rewired the right way.

I guess I left out the part about having to fix the cabs as well. Yes, it is a mandatory thing.
No sense adding in more parts and joints to fail.Nathan

I did mine in a couple of hours, BUT, I have done them 3 times. Do EVERYTHING right the first time, take out the emulsion tubes the first time and clean the little hole in the bowl for the enricher/choke and buy some new float valve seals. Also check your petcocks and fix if needed. You must have a lot of oil on that plug, i thought it was just a little or fouled. Good luck.Jeff
