my clearence on the intake s are about 0.15 and o.25 exhaust if i did it right, i m also gonna take it into a shop close by and have them check the clearence and also timming, just cause i know nothing about the timming and it s my first time ever messing around with any of this stuff. I did measure at tdc and watched a couple videos so i wasnt completly bind. Dan was pretty adamante about the voltage regulator being the problem while i ve got it part I decided to check it and the white wires are pretty brown they look burnt so i ve replaced them and put in another regulator

      Bumped for more discussion!

      Hey folks,

Okay, he gave us some good new info regarding his ignition coils, running proper DynaTek coils and wires. So..that blows my theory of possible MikesXS coils going bad when getting hot?

I noticed that he has a big bore kit, wondering who did the boring, and whether they might have gotten the holes too tight, not enough/proper clearances....so that as long as the engine is run in cooler weather, the engine doesn't heat up too much, so the pistons don't expand too much and it keeps running. BUT when it's hotter like a hot summer day, it gets too hot and the pistons expand too much and start possibly binding in the cylinders causing the bike to DIE, and then it's allowed to cool down a bit, and then it will restart and run a while again!? Just a theory.

He's stated his plugs have looked good with good color, but I'm still wondering if it's possibly running too lean for the big bore, and that's what's causing it to eventually get too hot when it's hot outside!?

Your theory about piston to bore clearance dosent work... if it was the cause there would be scoring bad enough where compression would be degraded to a noticable point. The pistons expand faster then the cylinders and you'd get a cold seize (meaning not at full operating temperature where everything has normalized). Do that once and you'll know it! That happens with two strokes snowmobiles if you dont let them warm up. You can usually get away with it once if it isnt stuck too bad but your on borrowed time at that point...
