Anyone know a trick to getting stuck diaphragms loose from the slides? All I've ever tried came out fairly easy, Ive got a set that won;t turn loose though.

Hey Greg,
You've got me confused? Are you trying to separate the rubber diaphragms from the metal slides....or are you using the wrong terminology and are trying to get some SLIDES out of the carb bodies, but they are stuck in the carb bores????

Trying to get the rubber off the slides.
As I said, usually, with a little effort, I can pull them free from the groove in the plastic piece at the top of the slide but these won't budge.Greg

I thought the plastic portion CLAMPED onto the rubber diaphragm, so that they should not be easily removed?? I remember seeing Toolmaker Tim's post about replacing the damaged diaphragms on a set, and I thought he had to CUT the plastic part off of the slide.
Is this on the early year slides, or the later series??

Hey Greg,
You may be trying to save some coin, and you may know this, but you can buy new diaphragms for $20 each. They are super easy to install also. I bought some from here http://www.jbmindustries.com/JBM_ORDER.html.
You do have to cut the plastic rings off to install the ones from JBM. though.80 SG XS1100
