For those of you that are or have run the Dyna Coils, what do you like and/or dislike about them. Other than the stock coils being obsolete, are these coils better than stock? Which ones are for the XS1100.

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
"What they do have is an implacable, unrelenting presence and movement that bespeaks massive power lurking behind paint and chrome. They don't wail like a screeching ninja, the don't rumble like a harley. They just growl like a spactic, stressed out badger waiting to rip your face off and eat your soul." Trainzz~RIP~
I use green Dynas. 3 ohms in XS1100's. You remove the ballast resistor (if there is one...).
I used them on a GL1000 too. They give a vastly better spark thasn OEM. You can use your own leads (I use silicone leads with carbon-fibre cores). They are compact and easily fitted. Definitely easier starting and better performance. A strange hiccup my bike had disappeared entirely. That's the pros.
Cons..... none. Even the price is not a con, IMO. Anything less (eg Like's XS 10,000 mile coils) is a waste of money, I reckon. You get what you pay for.

Yep I know, Im a believer that you generally get what you pay for... I have been trying to snipe a good set of Accel coils off ebay for cheap but no luck so far.
Any thoughts on which is a better product, Accel or Dyna..?

I see a price on Bike Bandit of $143. Does that sound like a price for one or both coils. are the Accel coils any better or easier to install?
MP
That Is for both. If you shop around and watch for awhile you can find them closer to $120.

Anybody know a part number dor the coils. Where is the best place to purchase? So far I know that I need 3 ohm, dual output and to bypass the ballast resistor.

Another option is the green coils from Mikes XS. More than a few members have installed them and been very happy with the results.
Me, I took the route of our fellow XSives from across the pond and used the Honda VRF 1000 coils. Got a set off fleabay, they bolt right up like OEM. Only no wiring harness. The coils have blade connectors on them. So, you can make up a wire with the correct female ends and just plug into the harness connetor, or I took the old wires and connector off my stock coils and put the female end on the cut ends so my coils connect like factory.
