The POS Mikes XS rear brake switch that I replaced my old switch with broke in half midway up the adjuster barrel. I just got the bike running after all my other electrical issues and front fork problems and suddenly no brake light. I pulled the switch off my F since it won't be going anywhere soon and got it hooked up. The first thing I notice is now I have a brake light. The second is the spring attached to the brake pedal is a gazillion degrees and sparks are coming off it where it touches the frame. I checked the switch with a meter and one side of the switch pigtails is grounded to the spring. Anybody know whether the pressure activated switches will work on the rear brake cylinder?

Ok, Just ordered one, we will see how it goes. This has been a frustrating chain of events.1979XS1100SF
