You're welcome. Keep it safe somewhere until you ever need it. One day, you'll be very pleased indeed that you bought it!

Should I put some oil on this thing to make sure it doesnt rust up? Could be a long time before I need it.

Cannot hurt to lightly oil it and wrap in wax paper.

Also I plan to pre-emptively change it for my new touring build, then put the existing one away for future use.

The bearings come with a coat of light oil but I would put it in a ziplock plastic bag and squirt a load of oil in the there before sealing it up.....

            Update

Quick update folks. As of Sunday 22 July, all bearings ordered and paid for have been despatched.

I still have some of these bearings left. If anyone wants to invest in one for the future, then please let me know by PM and I willl supply one. As stated earlier in this thread, the bearings + international airmail shipping (delivery within 10 days) cost $38.20 each (that's US dollars). Payment via Paypal is required as it's fast and easy.

Older members of this forum know the difficulty in getting hold of these bearings. Newer members and people new to these lovely bikes may not be!

Ah! Praise indeed. I reckon I've single-handedly cured the Unobtanium problem re these bearings. It's great fun! I have invitations from grateful recipients, the world over. Some of them were waiting for months with bikes off the road, due to failure of that bearing!

It's also interesting to see just how many countries XS1100's are found, still going. What a bike

                              Hi Folks.

Can you please post here if you have not received your bearing order, giving the date that you paid? One particular package took 3 weeks to arrive and the purchaser e-mailed me to ask where it was (it arrived next day!). That amount of time is definitely not the norm... it's usually 6-10 days. So I'm wondering if anyone else has not received theirs yet?

As of today, 28 July, all bearings ordered have been despatched. That's over 200 of these Unobtania that I've shipped out

I still have some left and I have listed a couple of them on eBay for non-members. If anyone wishes to invest in one of these for future, or maybe even immediate, use please PM me asap
