I think its aftermarket. Well I just turned the key on then the right turn signal and turned the handlebars all the way right and back to center andthe turn signal stayed on. I don't know of the bike needs to be ruining for this to work. Plus I don't have the front turn signals on it at all right now. When I get it running and the forks back on I will let you know if it works.

I've done extensive work with the auto cancel system, so can answer a lot fo question having to do with troubleshooting the auto cancel system, including making it function with an automotive two prong flasher. (just takes a couple of relays and some wiring, just a single relay if your turn signals are LED).Cy

Thanks for the advice. I tried what you said and left the key off for about 4 sec the first time and 10 sec the second time and the signal was still on. I took another look at theflasher and it says flasher LED lamp on it so that might be why the auto canceling isn't working.USMC 2005 - Present

Assuming the stock speedometer being on the bike and working as well as the auto cancel unit and OEM flasher the signals cancel after traveling approximately 100 feet and 10 seconds which ever keeps them on longer. If the bike is sitting still they will stay on forever. One way to see if the auto cancel system is working is to turn on the key, turn on the signals, then turn off the key, wait a couple of seconds and turn the key back on, if the signals come back on with the key the auto cancel system is completely inoperative, if they don't there is a good chance it's working, at least partially (the reed switch in the speedometer could still be bad which would keep them from canceling going down the road but the cancel unit and flasher are at least working together).

Well I guess once I get my tires back today from getting mounted I might take the 78 for a ride (in the parking lot since it doesn't have a headlight or seat) and see if the auto canceling works.USMC 2005 - Present
