  • Tire size

I dont have my bike here with me and i want to order tires for it. What sizes are the tires for a 80G I was thinking that the Front was a 100-90-19 and the rear was 130-something-16. But im not sure. I remember there being 2 different size rear wheels. Mine is stock so anyone have the specs? Thanks.

    Specials used a 130-90-16 .

Standards (which is what your G should have unless it has been swapped) is a 130-90-17.

Front is 100-90-19 as you stated.

The front size is 100/90/19 for both Special and Standard
The rear for the Standard is 130/90/17
The rear for the Special is 130/90/16

        Edit; I type slow,

No, but it's not a straight swap either. You also need the Special axle spacer and caliper torque bracket to correctly position the rear brake. The Special 16" wheel is machined with the brake rotor .300" further 'out' compared to the standard, so you need these matching parts.

If you want, a 110/90-19 fits up front. I choose to use 110 over the 100/90's... JAT

That depends upon the tire brand. Some will crowd the fender.

It should also be pointed out that swapping to the 16" rear wheel will reduce the overall tire diameter by a inch; that will increase your cruise rpm by about 400.

I have yet to run into that issue, I have not tried too many tires though... The Avon Venom 110 fits and feels good... right not that is my preferred front tire...

I have a Metzeler 100/90-19 on mine. It's close enough to the fender that I suspect the next size bigger would rub. I believe 110 wide Dunlop tires fit.

I've tried a 110/90/19 S11 Bridgestone on the front of my Special and it is too wide, although the Shinko 712 of the same size will fit, it is just a tad narrower.

I'm running a Metzeler 110-90 on a Special. No probs. Made the speedo dead-on with my GPS. I have run a 140 Dunlop E III rear no prob either. If you get one with raised white letters, the letters rub the drive shaft housing.

+1 with Poprock. I run the Dunlop E III 140/16 on my MNS, and the only problem I have is putting more than 38psi in the rear will cause it to rub slightly. Since I ride it solo almost all the time, it's not a problem. The front is an E III MM90-19.

Yup, the first day I got a stone in between the fender and my new 110. ripped it up. I took off the fender.
