So, I'm surfing thru MikesXS and see these:
http://www.mikesxs.net/product/16-4651.html
Not bad for $16 for the pair!
On my G, the back side of the mirror is old, brittle, faded and sunbeaten to death.
I've already lost 2 inserts (the glass/mirror part) and have since replaced both mirrors with used ones that I'm sure, with age, will again fail me.
(And add another 7 years bad luck for breaking another mirror)
So I pose this question to you, the owners of multiple bikes of various Yamaha breeds:
Will the mirrors off a 650 fit on an 1100?
I suppose the limiting factor would be the thread size, not so much the length and size of the mirror shaft and face.
I'm considering blowing the $16 just to see if they'll fit or not. If they don't, maybe I can get them to take a return.
MikeXS also has some stock looking black ones, but they are $20 for the pair and I'd think the 'chrome' ones might hold up to the elements/sun a little better.
I know there may be other ways to go, but for my bike, I'd like to keep it close to stock looking as possible. I'm definitely not going for the total restore look! I just want to keep is true to the era from which it hails.
Maybe that's why I've got the WJ2 and Shoei bags on it instead of something newer and nicer. (and more expensive)
