Any interest in SS Socket head Carb screws?

I ordered a set of Stainless Socket head screws for a set of XS/XJ carbs from an eBay seller mentioned here. I'm getting ready to order some stuff from Allens fasteners. If anyone is interested I can order enough to make up a couple extra sets. Here's what came in my set which is what I would order. Allens did not offer this size in plated, only SS and black so I would order Stainless.

Tops:
16-5mm x 10mm x.8
33-5mm x 15mm x.8

Bottoms:
16-5mm x 15mm x.8
16-5mm locks

The fasteners cost approx 8.00 with minor quantity price breaks. The shipping to me is 7.00 for the first set and should drop quickly with more sets, the shipping to you @ CONUS locations should be around 3-4 dollars. So if I can buy 10 sets you are probably looking at or under $14 to your location. The final cost to you would be my cost passed on. Let me know so I can get an idea if how many then I can firm up a price. I'll probably be looking at ordering early next week. Once I know I'll add enough for a couple extra sets and order and will sell them until they run out.

Suggestion:

McMaster-Carr has all of these fasteners. This is where I sourced mine. I think they only come in quantities of 100 ea. They come out very cheap for each that way. I have gone through them like no tomorrow and I'll probably end up buying more. Don't forget the link bars. 100 ea will make a few sets.

That's why I bought 100 ea. It didn't cost much more than doing one carburetor set with fasteners from the hardware store. Consider what it costs a hardware store to keep all of those fasteners. I'm very glad they do it, but in this case bulk worked out. I have other bikes with similar carburetors and friends that ride them too.

I think putting fastener kits together for our carbs is a good service. Thanks for being thoughtful, John.

Hell, fastener kits for anything that is a phillips head would be a great idea. Those things are terrible and eventually you WILL strip one and have to drill it out. I got my set off ebay when I did my SG. Was the first thing I ordered when I cleaned them. Best purchase I have made so far I think. Plus it freshens them up a bit.

I've swapped most of the fasteners on the sides covers on my XJ. On the XJ the PO must have been polishing the sides and polished the electro plate off the heads and they have turned funky. The other bike suffers from neglect and they look funky too. These were the source of my first order from Allens and soon to be 2nd. I've just used EP for these but I guess SS would be ok too. There really isn't that much difference in the cost of these small bolts. I would order EP for the carbs. I'll look at McMaster Carr too before I order as I have bought from them in the past.

I've looked into this also, assembling 'sets' for these bikes. None of the sets I've seen come with all of the visible hardware. The carb sets lack the bolts for the rails and the choke handle, the engine sets lack the starter bolts and chrome middle drive cover bolts. That real long one for the middle drive is hard to find; I found one source (Fastenal) but they're $10 each...

What we need is a quantity list of all the bolt sizes needed for this. There really isn't all that many different sizes needed; most of the engine covers are held on with one of three sizes.

That choke handle is one that hurts, since you buy 100 and need just one. That one is obvious and needs to be replaced or the whole thing looks incomplete.

My set has 2 different bolts for the tops
Tops:
16-5mm x 10mm x.8
33-5mm x 15mm x.8
I'm guessing the 10mm is the top cover plate. What would the 15mm be for?

If the set you bought is from the eBay vendor, his kits contain bolts for both the cast aluminum and stamped steel tops... you got an extra, there's supposed to be 32...
