I have an electrical question: what's this plug for(aka what am I missing )

and, is there anything missing from the front harness?

Well, the top pic is of the 'extra' lighting wiring Yamaha furnished for aftermarket stuff. As delivered, nothing is hooked to them.

The bottom pic looks OK, you've got the pigtail for a fairing connected is all I see...

Those I have never seen; that doesn't mean somebody doesn't make 'em, but I have no idea of where to look. You might want to get another harness and rob them off of it...

Nope, he's got the 'common' male-female plugs for the harness, but not the 'equipment' plugs...

so what would be a solution to my problem? insulated crimped connectors instead of a plug? or maybe encase everything in an epoxy? I'm sure everyone has the same problem...that plastic was not made to last 30 years....

                  Hey Nick,

Dependent on whether it's a "RESTORATION", or a resurrection as to if you'll want to find an OEM plug from an otherwise broken/torn/burnt up harness, or do something like what you said, using or even making our own plug out of separate connectors? Geezer is a good guy, visit his site and then drop him a line and ask him if any of his 4 or 6 slot plugs have the same spacing as the OEM TCI plug, you might be able to make one using combo of plugs!?

At this point it's a resurrection ....if, and when I get it running I will think about restoring it...I like to keep things original whenever I can....
