  • Removing the oil cooler

    Hi Guys,
I'm fitting a fairing to my '81 RH and I need to remove the oil cooler. Can someone please give me breakdown on how its done? It looks like an easy job but wanting to obtain advice first before jumping in.

    Thanks,
    Dale.

    Oil Cooler Removal

Never done myself but would think that if you remove the cooler, it's lines and the intermediate piece that fits between the oil filter and the crankcase, (the section that the oil cooler lines thread into) you will be OK. May have to get a different length bolt that retains the oil filter housing to the crankcase if the original also traps the intermediate piece.

When you remove the 'sandwich' adapter between the oil filter housing and the block, you'll also leave out the union bolt that the oil filter bolt threaded in to. The oil filter bolt will go into the block with no problem.
