I did the auto CCT from a 700 raptor and a valve clearance job on my special and everything seemed to check out, rode it 50 miles and as I was going through my neighborhood I gunned it in 1st, went to shift to second and missed it, reving it up high, backfired a few times when it was calming down.. When I pulled in I started hearing the slap.. Took the auto cct out and it looks fine. So I'm not sure what happened...
