Hey All,
I am a long time member who likes to search the forums before asking a question. Here is my problem, I had to replace the connector that comes from the alternator that has the white wires in it, and also had to replace the end on the wire harness. Now I can not get the alternator to charge. I checked the resistance on the white wires, they are .3 ohms on all combos. The Green and brown wires have a resistance of 3.6ohms. So they are close enough to spec based on the accuracy of my multi-meter. I believe the problem maker is the rectifier. I have one ordered and will be here next week. So my question in the mean time: does it matter the order of the white wires to the rectifier? If so how do i reorder them correctly. I believe I got them in the correct order by doing them one at a time. I did try grounding the green wire to the frame, but that did not fix anything.
I am supposed to be doing the entire Blue Ridge Parkway next week, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I also have #1 not firing. I did just rebuild the engine as well. That is believe is carb related due to the fact the plug is not even getting wet but there is plenty of vacuum on the air inlet side, I put my hand on it and it pulled enough to create a seal.
Thanks,
Chris
