  • Stapled seat covers onto pan?

I have a replaement seat cover for an 81H and it is to be "stapled" onto the pan. I have replaced 78E seat covers using the teeth-like tabs on the pan to secure it in place. How is the later model cover staped onto the pan?

If you have a stock steel pan those little finger ripping points will do the job. Some aftermarket pans, like Corbin, are fiberglass or plastic and you need to staple them.

I believe the cover is held by spikes on the pan.

OK thanks. I couldn't imagine stapling through steel...

          Hi Skids,
they are all held on the same way, the cover is spiked onto those jagged teeth and then the teeth are bent over.
But what to do if those teeth break off when you are removing the old cover?
Or when they are bent down again to hold the new cover on?
One time I bought a generic cover that came with S-section spring clips.
The inner half of the clip held the cover onto the seat pan and the outer half held on a trim strip that hid the clips.

I had(Have?) a seat that the cover is held on with rivets. You could only tell from looking at the underside. (the rivets didn't penetrate the outside of the cover.

This is(was?) and after market plastic/fiberglass pan.

The older Corbins like we tend to use are Corbin's metal pan and pop-rivets are used underside. My original 81Venturer seat(still new) in the closet uses the attached pointy metal tabs to hold cover tightly in place.
