When I was polishing my covers, I broke through the paint on the emblems and exposed what looks like copper. Izzat what they are made of?

Nope, not copper. They're steel, but had a thin layer of copper then nickel plating applied to prevent rust....Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two
