XJ. It has the proportioning valve for the linked front left/rear brakes.

I'm sorry about the short message, basically I am in the process of unlinking my brakes on my XJ11. I have completed the front with the use of a double banjo bolt and copper washers. For the rear I was just going to pick up a rear cylinder from an XS11. How can you tell if one is from an XJ or an XS?

I agree, as the XJ has a left front brake fed from rear master...

Only the LH/XJ has the cast-in reservoir, the XS master reservoirs all are plastic...

One has to remember that the 81MNS also has the linked brakes which confuses the question a bit.

Pretty much the same part except the XJ master cylinders (front and back) have level indicators built in, which the LH lacks. So the wiring coming out of the body identifies that as an XJ part.

The XJ one is a little larger bore as well. The bore diameter is stamped on the side of the reservioir. As far as I know, the rebuild kits for the LH are unobtainium. The XJ kits are available from Chacal (link in my signature).
