    Hi Folks

Just to let you all know..... I have only 12 rear left wheel bearings left from the recent order. If you have been considering buying a replacement or a spare, or spares, then I would suggest that now is the time to buy. I realise most people are strapped for cash these days but, as people know, this is an important bearing which has been virtually impossible to get hold of until my recent efforts.

I've put this as a new thread so that people will read it and, like last time, I won't post on the subject again, other than to confirm despatch (so people don't think I'm even more boring...)

Well, I would say that anyone who plans on running an XS1100 regularly really should have a spare, even if the bearing that's already in the bike is OK. Members of this forum have bought approx 170 of them, some for immediate use to replace damaged ones but mostly to be squirrelled away for future need/use. If a bike has a worn/damaged bearing, then I personally would want two bearings... one to use immediately and one as a spare.

Since you are new, you will not be aware of the difficulty people have had in getting these bearings. LHS rear bearing failure means a bike off the road and some people have searched for up to a year to find a replacement. Even then, NOS costs a lot (I paid over $100, as I was desperate).

Bearings cost $32 each and shipping is now $6.20 worldwide. Our Royal Mail in the UK increased all postage rates on May 1st. That's airmail shipping though with delivery within 10 days.

Please don't think I'm hussling you, by the way. If you check wheel bearing threads way back on this forum, you will see what a problem its been.

That's kind of you. I'll let you know. I think they'll all go though and I've put some on eBay (at a higher price than for XSives). Like you though, I don't mind keeping a stock for future bikes and as an investment! There seems to be an influx of new members who are new to XS1100's, so I suspect they are not aware of the unobtanium aspect of these bearings (yet...)...

                        Confirmation of delivery

                        H everyone who's bought bearings

I'd be grateful if you could post here to confirm when your bearing(s) have arrived. The first lot, sent out about a week or so ago, are beginning to arrive in the USA. I've sent a lot more since then, so it would help if recipients can post when they get them.

                        Thanks!

Howdy James, Bearings just arrived in the big A-T-L via post. Bearings are great and its good to Obtain some Unobtainium. That's slick service and went through customs without opening. BTW, I did cross the river on A15 a couple of times going out to Withernsea and up to Scarborough. Your Castle from 1150 AD is off the charts scenic on a blue sky day. Moors and Dales sure have some great roads. Perfect roads for that FJR1300 you showed us. Nice mods and you will have fun with that bike. Thanks again for making the bearings available to us.
