Thank you so much for the insight on the pods. I'm going to run them for a while after I get going and if I don't like them worse thing I'll have to do is put the box back on.
My wife (slave driver) operates the company I work for so if I can get a day off to work on it I'll be doing good.

Carbs are off the bike, tore down and soaking in cleaner. All I can say is holy sheep gunk batman.

1st Carb- was full of crud and gunk
2nd Carb- full of crud and gunk and the main pilot jet is stop up up completely
3rd Carb- little crud but looked good compared to 1 & 2
4th Carb- little crud but also looked good compared to the others

Hopefully this is going to make a world of difference.
Thanks so much for the help and support, Mitch

Should make a world of difference. If you haven't already, use some inline fuel filters. At this point, I would buy a pack of four new float needles. Having the spring-loaded seat, even tho the Viton may look and feel alright, seating to close fuel flow off may require more pressure up against the spring, more so on one than the other. This changes the fuel level in the bowl possibly leaving them at different levels. Fought this on mine at different times for 3yrs. now. Fuel levels in bowls would change at different times even tho floats were set identically the same. Finially #4 would run fuel out more often than not.....while idleing with airbox off. Went to the extent of trimming gaskets so they didn't have a portion of gasket riding past inside of bowl housing interfering with float travel........still same issue going on till I replaced the Viton float needles. Now RUNNING fuel levels are all the same height. A whole kit usually isn't necessary, as the kit will usually have non correct, non Genuine Mikuni jets, and this WILL open a whole other can of worms as far as tuning.

I have inline fuel filters on it since I've had it. The one on 3 & 4 did great. 1 & 2 stayed air locked all the time, which may have been the stopped up carbs on that side causing the problem of air locking.
Also the tunnel on the bowls of 1 & 2 and stopped up big as crap, how I get them unstopped? I've soaked them and tried an air compressor to blow them out without any luck.

I take a wire out of a wire brush to push through those small passages. It will take alot of work, but it can be done. I woudl also suggest gettign a can of Barrymans Carb dip or similar and letting them soak in it for a few hours or so. Do not soak the entire carb body as the chemical can be harsh on the butterfly seals and other rubber parts. But nothing in the float bowls will get hurt by soaking. I like to take all the parts for one carb at a time, put them all in the dip, screws and all if they are corroded or dirty, and let them all soak for hours.

It's all back together and alive. It took a few minutes to get it to start taking fuel again, but this is the best it has ever sounded and haven't even did a proper sync on the carbs.

No missing that I can hear from it and all 4 pipes are heating up nicely now. The idle is around 2500rpms after it warmed up.

What is the next move to get the idle down to get to go for a test ride?

Thanks everyone for helping me save this bike, I was getting ready to send it down the road.

Turn the idle down via the main adjustment knob, bottom front between carbs 2+3.

Gonna have to sync them. Check first that the throttle cable is in correctly and not hanging the idle up.

I hadn't got to check anything like that yet it was getting too dark when I got it started to see anything much.

I did figure out making your own Pod holders to connect them to the carbs to keep them from blocking the ports made a huge difference with them.

Yep, if you don't have sync gauges, you could probably bench sync them to be close enough. For vacuum sync, you're gonna have to block the YICS port you know.

Edit: Forgot to mention. check for vac. leaks.

I did bench sync them. I wasn't aware the YCIS had to be block to do a vacuum sync, I'll have to look in to this.

There is a tool for blocking the YICS ports and most people just leave them in beacause the engine runs better with it.

I made the tool to block the YICS ports. My question is, how hard is this sucker supposed to be to get it to go in?

I got the yics tool in and the carbs checked and synced. Now I can't get the sucker out to save my life, what can I do for this problem?
