If it worked corretly simply leave it in. It just makes it the same as all the XS11's and will perform better in the long run.

Sounds good I'll just leave well enough alone.

Also was wondering when it is running correctly which way should the choke be sitting? Looking down on the carbs should it be pulled all the way to left or all the way to the right?

All the way to the left is full choke. 1/2 way in is fast idle. Fully to the right is choke off/ run position.

Thanks I can't ever figure that out . Till now the only way it would run was with full choke, now as it warms up I can ease all the way off and it will idle at around 1000 smooth and without a miss.
Thanks everyone with all the help.

ok I have a really stupid question. How do you set the float heights in the carbs. I know how to measure them just not sure how to adjust them.

You gently bend the little tab that sits on the float needle.

Make sure you measure the float on both sides, additional bending may be required to get them the same.

Took the bike out for it's first ride since rebuilding the carbs and readjusting everything on. All I can say is HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That monster scared the crap out of me. No miss what so ever, no popping, and no stumble any where in the rpm range. Just gut wrenching, rip the skin off your ass power!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for helping with fixing this thing and not letting me give up, Mitch

Exciting the first time you feel the power and torque of one of these things running right ain't it.

Scared the crap out of me when 1st - 3rd jerked the front wheel off the ground. In 4th I was running 60 and only pulling 4000rpm with me and my ole lady on it.

Also a plus is with the pods on it it has a mean ass growl to it

Sounds more like 5th with the stock final drive.

It's always felt like it's geared fairly high. I never got to go in 5th yet. Only time I could ever get into 5th was running on the 4-lane.
How can I tell if it's the correct final drive for my bike?

Some folks have swapped out for an XS750/XS850 FD on these. If you look at the back of the FD (you can look through the spokes of the rear wheel) and see the model number on it. If it starts with a 2H7 that is the stock FD, if it has a 1JYO it is the XS750/850 FD.
