    +1 to this suggestion! I actually use a long screwdriver for this. It slides all the way through the case and holds the shift forks where they need to be, buy lose enough so they can wiggle just a little. Makes all the difference for me.

      AWESOME just took her for her maiden voyage! excellent power throughout all ranges with 120 main 50 pilot with individual air filters, and all the gears work!

        When I did mine a couple of years ago, I had the exact same problem! I KNEW the bastard would go back in because I had just removed it a few hours earlier! But all signs were saying there was no way in hell it would go back in.

        But, it did. I still have no idea HOW it went back in, but I did eventually find the perfect combination that let it slide/squeeze home.
