was just wondering if anyone has done this mod, and if its really as effective as he says it is. also if they have any pics of the process or finished product.

If your wiring is in good condition and all the connections are clean, you won't see much if any diffference....

Yes, I run that mod on both my bikes. Voodoo electrics at it's best, . Make sure you have 3 ohm coils, not the 1.5's.

reason i ask is the bike has trouble starting, and i feel like the problem may be electrical more than gas/air mix. would putting the coils from my 81 parts bike make a difference? i already went through and cleaned all important electrical connections (haven't made it to the lights yet, im going to replace those anyway)

If you are going to use the 81 coils (3 ohm), remove/bypass the ballast resistor. The 3 ohm coils provide a hotter spark, JMHO. If your battery is old and on the weak side, that could be part of your problem.

ok, will do. and the battery is old, but puts out good voltage. i think i am going to get the Odyssey battery eventually, i have been hearing great things about them.

ive done the same mod,
stick a volt meter on the red/white wires
from the coils, u should get 12 volts,
if u do theres no need for the mod,
i did it cause i was getting 11 volts,
and was to lazy to go thru all the connections.
