On the XS at least there is a threaded hole In the top of the cases right by where the oil feed line for the head is. That is where the XS oil pressure switch is, you can feed a sender off of that.

            That's what I've done.

This photo shows how I had my last gauge hooked up.

These photos show how I am hooking up my new digital oil pressure gauge with a sending unit.

I mounted it there to keep the sending unit away from the heat of the cylinders.

                  take off eh

In Canada you can prolly be fine with the 15w40 Rotella and I run 10w40 Amsoil synth all summer . I think I am in a slightly colder climate than you .
That being said ,these bikes need a warm-up period to get to operating temp . I take off with the choke on and at the first traffic light adjust if the idle is crazy , take off and turn off choke once i'm on a clear straight run .

                      YICS Eliminator

I have the YICS Eliminator and am quite happy with it . It has been in the bike constantly since installation . The YICS system makes for less precise tuning and it is recommended to block it off for a carb sync or color-tune . The YICS Eliminator does away with this all together . Yics is a system for people who dont like to tune up their bikes and compensates for differences . I love to tune my ride and while the Eliminator is removable ,I think it is best left in permanently . Just my experience .
