  • 850 1100 final breather cap swap

I received an 850 final with the breather cap broken from shipping damage. Today I successfully pulled the one from the 1100 without damage. They are press fit. I'll mix up a dab of JB Weld and "press fit" the good one into the 850 final.

All I did was grab it with a pair of channel locks adjusted correctly and very gently started rotating. Once it broke loose I keep rotating back/forth until it loosened up then started working up and out. Small moves, I was really worried about breaking the good one. Practiced on the bad one.

I had the same thing, but I went and bought a new one from the local dealer. I would not suggest using JB weld though. Just a nice tap to get it seated should be plenty to get it to hold.
