I'm running the shinko tourmaster 230's on my XS. I've got about 400 miles on them now and love them. I've heard that they some times wear fast. But they grip well and ride well and cost 1/3 of what some other tires cost. It was a gamble I was willing to take. So far so good.

The only caution here is 'mixing' tread designs and compounds. Not all tire models play well with each other so you can get strange handling sometimes. Generally it's 'safer' to match the front/rear tires, so before selecting a front or rear tire, check to see if a matching tire for the other end of the bike is available. That's not always the case, so you need to check....

Want to understand size designations, speed ratings, load ratings & more? I found this helpful. Motorcycle Tire School. Is anyone running "V" rated tires? Also, when choosing tires, do you divide the total maximum load of the bike in half to determine load rating of tires?
