    Hi Nightengale,
As you already know the limiting factor is the swingarm space.
Give the brand too and someone may have already tried it?
Does the manufacturer give a measurement for the installed tires width? If so check that with a tapemeasure on your bike. Also check the WIDTH of rim required by that tire? does it match your wheel? check the weight rating too you maybe surprised. Compare overal circumference too as that will affect the speedometer. Correction you adjust in your head

The short answer is no. But....it depends upon the tire manufacturer. If their tire runs narrow, it might fit. 130 wide is the design fitment. That is assuming standards and Specials have the same swingarm.

By the way,the rear wheel size will not have influence on speedometer reading, as the speedo is driven by the front wheel.

First, note that this is a front tire, and yes it does make a difference; it's a bad idea to run a front on the rear. Plus the 17" rear rim is only 2.5" wide. So if your heart is set on a whitewall, I think about your only choice will be to swap to a 16" rear wheel off a Special (along with the proper spacer and caliper bracket) as you can find a rear whitewall that will fit that rim...

Hi scoot you are of course correct. What was I thinking
Oh some vague left over memory from when I changed my FRONT tire size

Just curious here...I run a rear on the front on another motorcycle. Turned around of course. Whats the dif between front on rear?

The front's usually have less tread depth and a much lower load rating for a given size.

Rear to front is OK as long as you reverse the direction; the tire's better than it needs to be.

Acually the "stock" size would be 3.5-19 wouldn't it be Steve?
100/90-19 would be modern metric equivalent... lol sorry I had to

When I was shopping tires for my XS I discovered my Dad had been running a rear 3.25-19 Perelli Phantom backwards. I guess that's an old school move. It threw me for a loop, not only tire size but the fact it was on backwards baffled me. The bike shop guy told me that's how they use to do it "back in the day"?
