mixture screws

Hello I am having a hard start issue when cold, runs great warmed up, question I do not know what the factory settings for the mixture screws are, I have mine 3 turns out and acting like a lean mixture, I do have a set of 45 pilot jets if I need to go richer, 42.5 installed now.
would the mixture screw orings be an issue?
trying to get ready for sping, summer and fall riding.

Check your enricher circuit if it is doing that. Pay special attention to where it draws from in the carb bowls as that is known to plug up.
If my mixture screws are between 2 and 4 1/2 turns out I am fine with them. Others may have different ideas but that is where mine are happy. I have fine cold start, nice idle and 48MPG (Canadian/UK gallon) the way I set them. I use a colortune to set them initially and then go by plug color after that for all ranges of my riding. Time consuming and a bit of a PITA but hey the damn thing is a rocket.

if shes running sweet when the bikes warmed up
leave the jets alone,
as ras stated check ur float bowls, theres a small
jet that can block up and cause hard starting.

How high should the bike rev when the choke is fully turned on? When the bike is warm it only revs to about 2500 rpms. Seems like it used to rev higher before I treated it with sea foam.i dont have the cash to buy the sync tools and I'm scared to let anybody mess with it. it runs well but I'm wondering if it could be better. And my milage is terrible. I noticed today that the exaust pipe on the right side going into the silencer is turning blue. Us that a indication of being plugged with goo. The exaust is factory with 33 thousand on it.

2500 should be fine, a blueing pipe is usually an indication
of a lean mixture, pull ur plugs out and see what they look like.

The plugs looked good the other day when I looked at them. Wouldn't it turn blue at the head not by the muffler.and its only on one side not both.being its got the original crossover pipe. Id think both sides would turn blue if that were the case.

if the plugs look good, then u should be sweet,
it could be that the pipe is a bit thinner at the part
thats turning blue.

If you are blueing a set of double walled stock pipes there is a problem!

Thats what I'm asking. Why would it blue at the muffler? if it was lean wouldn't it blue at the head?

If the bike is running rich, that can put unburned fuel into the exhaust. It can then ignite, causing blueing at the point of ignition...
