Well, that would have probably smoked your voltage regulator, hard to say what it would do to the rest of the electronics, the rest of the bits wouldn't care. Reinstall the battery as negative ground, and see what happens...

Well when I got home the next day, the 5th, someone stole the gas tank off my xs while it was parked on my porch on a dead end street. So I'm pretty much screwed for now and have been too discusted and broke to even mess with the bike yet. They probably got 10 bucks for it at the scrap yard and are so lucky I didn't come home while they were walking to their vehicle with it.Comment

Thats a god idea. I have a little money just not $200 or 300 for 1 off ebay. I got it to turn over. The starter solenoid is bad and I still don't have signals or any other lights. Just haven't messed with it after the tank got stolen, got a little down I guess but I'm about to be back on it.
I guess I should start a new thread about the gas tank.Comment

Well just an update. I did get a tank, first one that didn't fit and now I have the right one. I haven't had any time to work on it yet but I'm getting there. The tank I got is for a special and I had a standard so now the seat looks horrible, well it already wasn't in very good shape lol but now it doesn't line up. I can still sit on it though so good enough for now. Any ideas where I can get a seat? And do I need to do anything to make the "specials" seat and tank work right?
I also got a starter relay/solenoid but it still won't start so I still have work to do on the wiring. It did crank by jumping it though.Comment
