  • valve clatter at startup

there is a ticking noise coming from the no4 cyl at startup but once it is warm it is fine is there somethiong wrong or am i just paranoid

A bit of valve noise is actually a good thing. When the noise goes away, you need to adjust the valves again. When did you last re-shim the valves?

+1 on what pete said. An exhaust leak will sometimes go away after things warm up. It will eventually get worse.

You don't want a loose spark plug... they chatter away the threads in the head. A 'ticking' can often be a tiny leak hissing rhymically
