    Wires from my gastank ? What are the its a two connect clip what does it do?

    That is for the gas gauge sender on the standard or the low fuel light on the special.

        Actually I have this issue as well. I have one that looks like it is just a slide on clip and one wire that looks like it is direct wired. Both are off the tank the direct wired is broken. on a 82 XJ1100.

          yup. for some reason one wire is soldered on and the other is a spade connector. it is still the fuel level sender though.

              The XJ has the same 2 wire plug as the XS's in a 3 pin plug connector.

                  The wire that is soldered is the insulated connection to the internal
                  sender . Try to re-solder or replace the unit. NOTE. the XJ sender is not the same as a XS standard sender.

                    wire?

                    i would pull the gas tank and see if its connected to the sender. 2 wires?, i believe thats exactly where it goes.
