Just swap the damn pickup coils around. Your 180º out on the timing.

+1 on the 180 out. That's the exact symptom you get when that happens. However, it should be trivial to swap the wires at the primary side of the coils, at least it was in my case. It took about 30 seconds to do and the bike fired up in about 10 seconds after fighting with it for days before that.

Check the connection at the TCI nd the electrical connectors from your new pick-up coils. See if there is any corrosion on the connectors.

Under the timing plat is the rotor that has the two high spots that pass the coils to cause the signal. That rotor has a pin where it fits against the centrifugal advance. I can't remember if its in the rotor or the avance unit but the pin and the slot have to align and fit together. I've had that problem before also. It's easy to make that mistake and get the rotor misaligned.

                Just a thought.

I think one time that rotor was loose so I'm thinking it might be out but u have a stupid pencil stuck in the cylinder and in afraid to turn the plate counter clok wise. The food weather is finally here and I'm screwed. The pick up coils I got were from eBay and they might not be good I don't have a ohmmeter to check but I'm getting spark I don't know if that matters. If it could be bad pick up coils I'm gonna have them checked tomorrow

As long as your cam chain tensioner is in and tight it won't hurt to turn the engine back by hand.

Got the pencil out if I turn the plate till before the t mark and then put the pencil in and turn it till the t the pencil goes down. At the t mark the thing that rotates is pointing up at the center of the top pick up coil.

Did you check those pickups before you installed them?

No I don't have an ohmmeter and I was banking on if someone is selling them for 80 bucks on eBay they better work. Im gonna test them tomorrow I'll bring them to a mechanic to look at. I though if they dident work then it wouldn't spark. I need to check tomorrow if that pin behind is conected. If someone can give me a steep by steep I would appreciate it

I have a 4R0 parts engine in the garage and I think all that is still on there so I can pretty easily look or take a pic or two.

I just went to the mechanic and they checked my pick up coils they were good. I want to pull off the pick up mounting plate and see if there's something messed up behind it.
