I've never used this but I hear (see) it recommended for spring start ups. I've had both my tanks lined, since the seafoam disolves varnish etc., would it be safe to used on lined tanks. Not sure exactly what product was used to line the tanks, but I assume they are all about the same. Knowledge or opinions?

it shouldn't remove your lining... I use it in everything. Great way to clean the carbs up after sitting for a while. Great to put in the oil before you change it too. I like to put half a can in the gas the other half in the oil. fill the tank with fresh gas and let it run for 20 minutes before changing the oil. it will help
clean the varnish out of your motor. YMMV but its never let me downDon

I grabbed
a can of seafoam today and took it to the guy who lined my tank and asked if it was ok to use. He said absolutely. Apparently my tanks were red coated (epoxy i believe). He also said it should last as long as the bike.mack

. I was at the parts store today so I grabbed a can of seafoam. I poured it in right there in the parkinglot" a half can like suggested". my bike runs pretty good so I didnt think it would make a difference. Boy was I wrong. After about ten miles a started noticing that it was running a lot smoother especally at a idle. I took it home put it in the garage till it was time to come to work.I work 3rd shift. When I started her up it idled a lot higher with the choke on and came off the choke a lot sooner. I can't wait to see how she runs after work in the morning after being out in the cold all night. I guess the moral of my story is even a good running bike can benefit from a little sea foam.

Toward the end if the year I allways use stabil in all my goodies mowers and atv's. I was at the bike shop the other day getting a new tire put on the rim. Old one had a plug in the middle of it. front tire too. Po was a real smart one. The shop owner had some new fuel treatment stuff on the counter it was designed for our new ****ty gas with ethanol. I guess its suppose to protect better than stabil. It said one the bottle that the ethanol starts to breakdown in just weeks and this stuff is suppose to bond with the ethanol molicules and keep them from absorbing oxygen and breaking down. I think I will give it a try this fall and see how it works. It seems like gas turn bad about as fast as milk does anymore. If my atv,s sit for more than a week I drain the float bowls and then turn the gas back one and run a little out before I start them it makes a big difference on how easy they start. Seems like if gas has open access to the outside air it turns bad in a very short time. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the treatment that I'm talking about. Ok I'm done rambeling now...

fill the tank with fresh gas and let it run for 20 minutes before changing the oil. it will help
Picked up a can last night and was reading a bit while in line to pay. It said that it can be used in the oil for a LONG TERM cleaner, but then did say to change the oil when it turned black.
Many stores offer Seafoam by the gallon. I've been tempted many times to grab a gallon. It'd be cheaper in the long run, but $10 is easier to swallow than $60. I've seen it on sale in the $30 range before. I think I'll keep my eye out and grab a gallon or two next time it does. Good stuff.Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
