Just curious, how many turns out from seated are your idle mixture screws?

      Tuning

Really strange, I don't know weather to believe my colour tune or not. I had to back my screws out to 4 1/2 turns before I got any yellow. I'll give it another try on Monday as I'm not happy with the fuel filters flow right now. Kept going dry and starving the motor. I'm going to delete them for now until I get it tuned properly. It's running good when I can get the air out of the lines but it sure doesn't take long to drain them again with the filters in. I think I was just chasing my tail trying to do anything until I get the fuel flowing freely (through the lines not the crank)

        Mack,

I find that with these carbs, they do good about 2-1/2 to 3 turns out usually.

I think your correct that if the fuel is not being feed consistantly, your wasting your time trying to tune the carbs.

          yep

when i first put them back together I had the screws set to two turns and it started really well and ran smooth. I thought I'd check it with the colour tune to be safe but it kept running dry. I've never had luck with inline filters. Discovered I had a hairline crack in the oil filter cover though. Never leaked while the motor wasn't running but it has a steady drip just behind the bolt. I had it powder coated so maybe thats why it didn't leak before. Anyone have a spare?

                Thanx Dg

Yes I am PM me and I'll send you my shipping info. As for float level I set them with the bottom of the bowl washer, my washers are 1.33 mm thick so I'm 1.33 down from the max level and 1.67 mm from the minimum. Not sure how they refer to it though. If the minimum level is the start of a lean condition or the beginning of a rich condition. Thats why I chose just a bit richer than the middle. Funny thing though. I started at the 22.5 recommended for the plastic's and couldn't get them to stop leaking until I hit 24.5mm. They didn't leak but when I checked the levels individually, they were still too high so I went to 24.7 then up to 25mm before I was happy with the levels. I have to clean up the left handle bar controls today but I've removed the filters and will retune tommorrow. Get back to you with my results.
