OK, here we go, so I bought new front brake master cylinder for my bike from Mike's. There is an adjustment screw, I think it's for the piston for the brake, any idea's? and how does the adjustment work? it has a nut lock on it so you can lock the adjustment in place. My original equiptment doesn't have an adjustment... I'm lost. and not to start another thread,,, I used the mity-vac to bleed the brakes and that thing was useless.(could be just me) Bled the brakes the old fashion way.was way easier for me. How far should the brake handle go in(EX. half way?) thanks all

Is the adjustment screw on the MC body, or on the lever? The lever should have the screw, and that presses directly onto the piston. That is the "free-play" adjustment. On mine, if I squeeze really hard, I can get the lever to go down almost exactly halfway to the grip.1980 XS850SG - Sold

I have mine backed off about 1/16 of an inch before it engages mc piston, works fine that way for meTrapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.

That's about the same for me. Just back the screw out all the way, then screw it in until just before it touches the piston. Then clamp down the lock nut. You just want to be sure you have a LITTLE free-play so you're not applying brake pressure when you don't want to be.1980 XS850SG - Sold

If DamnXJ is simply replacing the front master it only needs to work on one disc. If he is to modify to accept both fronts then he would need the dual model.2-79 XS1100 SF
