What's the best way to "adjust" valves with no clearance?

I did, that's not the problem. The throttle itself doesn't return all the way unless i twist the throttle backward.1983 Ford Ranger 302 4x4

Lube the cable, make sure it's not pinched some where and that it's routed correctly. ( I had the same problem on one of my bikes)Ty

The only time I've had that problem was when the cable wasn't lubed or the throttle tube was sticking on the bar. In either case you need to fix the problem, which means as was mentioned by others, lube the moving parts, starting with the cable and make sure there aren't any tight bends in it, that will make it bind.Cy

I'll do that then. If i hold it wide open (not running) and let go of the throttle it closes fine but when i either close it slowly or barely open the throttle it doesn't close all the way. so I guess it should be an easy fix with the lube.1983 Ford Ranger 302 4x4
