Then the only way you will get to it is to remove that plug. I don't see that as an easy job either. I don't think it's going to just fall out when you heat it.

I wouldn't worry too much about boogering up the end there getting it out, epoxy or solder should repair it.

It ain't any good the way it is.

Careful with propane. I was messing around with a broken float post with propane and melted the post like wax

So I know how the port going to the air jet from the pilot port works, but the port behind the pilot jet that goes on the opposite side of the air jet, where does that go to?

You asked about the pilot circuit.this is my explanation.air jet(removable) is in the rear of the carb. air comes in.

fuel is pulled up thru the pilot jet and mixes with that air.comes out the upper carb bore thru 3 small holes where the butterfly closes at the top of the bore and also the mixture screw port nearer the front of the bore.

take carb spray with a straw and inject into the pilot jet (removed) cavity with a finger closing off the air jet intake. With the butterfly wedged open and the mixture screw closed down look for the 3 bore ports to deliver a steady output of spray., with the mixture screw backed out (if not broken with the tip lodged in the front port) all 4 will stream spray.. good stream means all clear
That was in your previous thread about #1 cylinder problem. Maybe someone else can explain it differently or more clear.

To put it in words it feeds fuel to the idle mixure/pilot circuit.

Maybe blow some compressed air thru the same port on one of the good carbs and that should tell you it's path(s).

not to hijack this thread but i am wondering if a broken mixture screw tip in there cause the problem he is experiencing?

                    i think its.....

so i was running compressed air through it, and a small chunk of a clear green hard substance came out of the cleared port on carb 2, it looks to me like green loctite, if thats the case and thats whats in the air port that would explain the blockage in carbs 1 and 3. any ideas how to get that crap out of there?

ive tried everything that i can think of, and the blockage is not budging...it wouldnt surprise me at this point if the PO had put some loctite in it...as to why? your guess is as good as mine....

The green chunck you described sounds like varnished up hardened gas that probably seeped into the air passgae from a stuck open float valve. Only way to get that out is to soak it with carb cleaner.

Or, you could dunk the carbs in a dip type cleaner like Berrymans, just be careful of the butterfly valve seals, but they are in the other end of the carbs. Some of the "caustic" cleaners could damage those butterfly seals and they are a PITA at best to replace. But you could hang the carb bodies into the dip keeping the butterfly end out.

There is also the ultrasonic cleaner method. I have a set of parts carbs, pretty nasty things, I put one in my ultrasonic ( a smallish HF USC) with pinesol in it and got decent but not great results really. Might be because it is a cheap little HF thing.

I've soaked it with berrymans and a stronger one a mechanic friend gave me that's a foam, because its blocked I can spray it in the pilot and air port and let it sit in their without it running out...could I boil the bank of carbs, without breaking them down? Im pretty sure its green loctite, I found evidence of it on the threads of the pilot jet screws and threads....
