With a name like Mad Max, I can only think of the rat-bike look.

Yeah rat bike or something that the purists will hate, sure hope you got the stamina to hear all about what you did "wrong" or how "I would've bought it to keep you from wrecking that pristine example of XS11 perfection." I wanna see what you are building I like build-up threads I sure hope you'll share how much fun you are having while you do it. That will help me ignore another barrage of complaining about how "I'd never do that."

Damn, I always love a reply that makes me laugh the second I read it. Guess I'll have to post in pictures what I've been up to and see what the verdict is.

very cool... If I wasn't so deep into my R1 I thought of doing something similar with a XS11 so I would have 2... 1 for fun and 1 for trips. I just have a hard time getting off my injected R1 when I want some fun

Interesting! Looks like there has been some thought put into it, and since it was already pretty much like that when you got it no one here can get on you for ruining it, and if they do they are dumb cause it would be near impossible to go back to anything close to stock.

The tank-seat-tail section transitions are pretty well done. usually people do not make them all that smooth of a transition and that looks pretty decent! Keep us all updated with pics!

thank you, yea it kind of combination of both. it had a 1999 hayabusa front end, and Triumph triple speed single swing arm in the back end, it actually want to handle and lean for a big bike..

yea, usually I appreciate the originality of the bike as well, and I would find other type of bike to chop it up or what not. but when I saw the bike, I just fall in love with it, and knew that it could be something more.. and I'm trying to make it more smoother line and more cafe looking.

I like the looks. As long as the handling has not been compromised, I would say that it is real good. I have done a lot of mods to my bikes to try and modernize them with lights, etc, and a purest would even frown on that!
